Whistler comprises many different areas and neighborhoods, each with its own character and community. But no matter where you choose to be, you are never far away from the action. From Emerald in the north to Cheakamus Crossing in the south, every neighborhood has its feel and range of amenities and features. Whether you want to be as close to the mountain as possible or hidden away in your little part of Whistler heaven, there is something for everyone.

PEMBERTON

Pemberton is a beautiful town just 30 minutes north of Whistler. With incredible mountain views, tons of recreational activities, and a quieter lifestyle than Whistler, it’s no wonder many people choose their accommodations here. The area is surrounded by numerous breathtaking provincial parks, each providing opportunities for adventure and exploration. Birkenhead Lake, Garibaldi, Joffre Lakes, and Nairn Falls parks are huge draws for those who love the outdoors.

WHISTLER NORTH

The subdivisions in Whistler North are characterized by extensive green spaces and access to lakes, seemingly endless hiking and biking trails, a world-class golf course, cross-country ski trails, and some of the most magnificent mountain views. Alpine Meadows is one of the most popular areas in Whistler North, offering a harmonious blend of Whistler’s past, present, and future with a combination of townhomes, traditional ski cabins, and modern mountain chalets. Just a short drive past Alpine is Whistler’s newest subdivision, Rainbow. It boasts breathtaking views across Green Lake to Whistler, Blackcomb, and Wedge Mountains. WHISTLER CENTER

BRAIDWOOD TAVERN | VEGAN & VEGETARIAN

The Braidwood Tavern at the Four Seasons Resort Whistler has a dedicated vegan menu with mouthwatering options like green pea and zucchini curry, rigatoni bolognese, and all green pizza and plant-based burgers. The vibe is relaxed and easy, and it’s also good to know the drinks list is another thing you should look at. They have a large array of local craft beers and some unique and innovative craft cocktails.

EARL’S KITCHEN + BAR | VEGETARIAN

Earls is a fantastic après ski location. It is fancy enough to feel a bit special, has a broad crowd-pleasing menu, offers happy hour drinks and food, and somehow always manages to have a bustling weekend-y vibe. Their veggie selection has expanded recently and includes a vegan quinoa and avocado power bowl, sushi such as a green dragon roll, as well as spicy tofu tacos or a crispy tofu Zen bowl.

NAKED SPROUT | VEGETARIAN

The Naked Sprout is a juice bar slash cafe with many veggie and gluten-free options. Its located right in the center of the village at Sundial Place, so it’s perfect to pop into if you need a quick, healthy meal or snack. The Naked Sprout has grilled paninis, a ramen bowl, a miso quinoa bowl, raw desserts, and a wonderful variety of fresh smoothies, juices, and shots.

HY’S STEAKHOUSE & COCKTAIL BAR | STEAKHOUSE

Hy’s is a must for any meat lover. Unanimously thought to have the best steak in Whistler, Hy’s Steakhouse has a vast steak menu with lots of incredible sides to go with it. You’ll have a choice of New York steak, tomahawk, porterhouse, filet, and more. For an extra special dining experience, you can order the steak Diane – flambeed tableside with brandy. There are also some non-steak options on the menu. Seafood dishes like lobster and citrus-glazed sablefish are a great alternative, and there are vegan and vegetarian options too. After your meal, the talented bar staff will be delighted to make you an old-fashioned mai tai or any other cocktails from their delicious drinks menu.

ARAXI RESTAURANT & OYSTER BAR | PACIFIC NORTHWEST

Regularly voted “Best Restaurant in Whistler,” Araxi is a landmark restaurant on the village stroll. It’s _t_he place to be seen in Whistler. The large dining room has a light and lively atmosphere and the bar is always bustling with excitement. The seafood and oysters here are absolutely incredible, with a wide range of varieties from beaches throughout the west coast available on the menu. Pair your meal, created by head chef James Walt, with one of the many amazing wines from the wine cellar. With more than 11,000 bottles, there’s no doubt there’s one to suit your palette.

IL CAMINETTO | ITALIAN

Il Caminetto blends Italian and local flavors from seasonal ingredients with a creative flair in the heart of Whistler. Antipasti choices include 24-month-aged prosciutto di parma, burrata with BC heirloom tomato tart, and more. Primi options include wild mushroom risotto, lobster and saffron linguine, spaghetti al pomodoro, and so forth. Follow up with _secondi _dishes like farmcrest chicken piccata, grilled Quebec veal chop or the six-ounce beef tenderloin.

THE BEARFOOT BISTRO | MODERNE

The Bearfoot Bistro offers a complete dining experience. The large, premium restaurant serves modern fine dining cuisine. With choices such as miso braised king oyster mushrooms, west coast rockfish, and pan-seared scallops, the menu has modern takes on classic dishes. The experience doesn’t finish with the meal, though. You can also try to saber a bottle of champagne, one of the experiences the eatery offers. After dinner, the Ketel One Ice Room awaits you for a vodka drink in a bar completely made of ice The temperature in the bar is -32C, so you’ll want to don one of the provided warm winter coats.

TEPPAN VILLAGE

An Authentic Japanese Teppanyaki Steakhouse is in the heart of Whistler. Since 1989, Teppan Village has been the ultimate destination for Japanese cuisine. It features freshly prepared ingredients, the finest AAA Alberta steaks, seafood, and sushi. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are also available. RIMROCK | WEST COAST

Rimrock is created by a diverse group of powder seekers, mountain bikers, golfers, and general outdoor enthusiasts, committed to serving world-class cuisine in a relaxed, unpretentious, authentic mountain lodge atmosphere. This local gem has consistently been rated as one of Whistler’s top restaurants by multiple outlets, so it’s safe to say that you’re in good hands with chef and owner Rolf Gunther. Menu highlights include wild BC salmon served with mashed potatoes and a lemon beurre blanc. The Rimrock Cafe also has some of the most experienced and longest-serving staff who can assist you with the extensive wine and cocktail menu.

MALLARD LOUNGE

Casual and refined, Fairmont’s Mallard Lounge and terrace is the ideal destination for sunny patio cocktails in the summer or après ski entertainment in winter. Master mixologists with signature blends of house-infused spirits, live entertainment and a spectacular setting have created a legendary following among visitors and locals alike.

HANDLE BAR

HandleBar is a small spot at the base of Blackcomb in the Upper Village that flies a bit under the radar but has a loyal, local following. There are no bottles in this joint, just beer (and wine) on tap and management has decided to do away with the ubiquitous flatscreen TVs that plague almost every other public drinking space in North America. At the HandleBar, it’s all about human interaction – celebrating friendships, making connections and enjoying a frosty beverage or slice of pizza.

THE RAVEN ROOM

The Raven Room is Whistler’s premier cocktail bar and eatery. Inspired by mountain surroundings, dishes showcase sustainably-sourced ingredients from the Pacific Northwest. Through a combination of quality spirits and time-proven techniques The Raven Room creates thoughtfully delicious and innovative cocktails.

BAR OSO

Bar Oso by Araxi offers a pleasant après with windows facing the stroll so you can check out the latest mountain fashions. This après spot specializes in the Art of Charcuterie in Whistler. There are no rules with Whistler après, so choose your own adventure. “Oso” meaning “bear” in Spanish, an homage to Whistler’s wildlife – offers a profusion of Spanish-influenced small plates, tapas, and house-made charcuterie. The long, convivial bar is the ultimate place to meet for hand-crafted cocktails and inspired wines.

THE LONGHORN

Situated right at the base of Whistler and Blackcomb gondolas, the patio at The Longhorn Saloon is the ideal spot to enjoy a beer after biking or skiing. Drinks are always flowing and the music is always turned up. From champagne showers to the legendary Longhorn nachos, this iconic Whistler bar is where the party happens. Whether you are there for a quick drink or settling in for an epic Sunday session, the place guarantees an experience you’ll never forget. GARIBALDI LIFT COMPANY (GLC)

The place to be for après, the Garibaldi Lift Company (GLC) lounge bar relishes its location above the Whistler gondola building. It overlooks skiers as they rip down the slopes in the winter, and downhillers as they charge through the mountain bike park in the summer. It is an intimate venue for some of the best musical acts to play on the west coast, fueling enjoyment as well as feeding appetites, with a variety of dishes such as flatbreads, pastas, sandwiches, salads and shareable appetizers.

DUSTY’S BAR & GRILL

Dusty’s has been hosting epic Whistler après since the first skis slid down the slopes and it always feels good to tap into that history with a group session at this historic Creekside spot. Step into Whistler’s original watering hole and go back in time to a place dripping with legend, lore and finger lickin’ good BBQ sauce. Dusty’s offers mouthwatering food, arguably the world’s best Caesar, legendary après, and party rockin’ live shows.

UMBRELLA BAR

Whistler’s Umbrella Bar might be the country’s coolest for its epic views alone. The watering hole, opening in 2018, is perched at 6,000 feet on the summit of Whistler Mountain, offering nearly 360-degree views of the surrounding mountain range. It’s the newest addition to the Roundhouse Lodge property, which includes a long-standing restaurant and bar nearby. While the bar has become most popular during spring season when the weather offers near-perfect conditions for skiers and snowboarders, anyone can enjoy a drink on the 63-seat patio whatever the season. The Umbrella Bar, accessible via the Whistler Village Gondola, is open year-round.

It would be a notorious lie to say Whistler wasn’t known for its nightlife and bar scene. With five different clubs and more than a dozen other bars and restaurants throughout the Whistler and Blackcomb villages, it sure delivers. The many bars offer great food and atmosphere with weekly trivia, live music, and other activities. On the Whistler Village stroll, you can find nightclubs like Garf’s, Moe Joes, Buffalo Bills, and Apres Apres. All the clubs are underground with lively music and plenty of dancing. You can count on an exciting night if you make your way to one of these bars to finish your evening.

RMU | APRÉS

RMU is short for Rocky Mountain Underground. It is a well-known hub in the Sea To Sky community. Rocky Mountain Underground was founded in 2008 and is at the base of Blackcomb Mountain with an outdoor patio; ski in for après or enjoy a summer evening cocktail. The place hosts local musicians, charity fundraisers, après parties, community mountain bikes and many more events, RMU Whistler is a local hub for anybody and everybody.

GARFINKEL’S | NIGHTCLUB

Garfinkel’s or Graf’s has been voted Whistler’s no.1 nightclub on numerous occasions. It is the hottest most relevant party spot in Whistler. Home of all the biggest shows and best parties. Garfinkel’s has hosted some of the craziest, wildest parties in Whistler’s history. WANDER THROUGH SUBTERRANEAN ICE CAVES

The aqua blue ice chambers and caves underneath the Pemberton Ice Cap are part of the largest southern ice field in British Columbia. Above Whistler Village on the side of Blackcomb Mountain is a world-class bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge facility – Whistler Sliding Centre. Public visitors can try Whistler's unique activities, passenger bobsleigh (winter and summer), and public skeleton (winter). Aspiring athletes can join Learn to Slide programming for all skill levels in bobsleigh, skeleton, and luge within the BC Sliding Development Centre. The facility is also a National Training Centre and popular training and competition venue for athletes from all over the world.

THE PEAK EXPRESS CHAIRLIFT

In addition to riding the Blackcomb Gondola, the Whistler Village Gondola, and the Guinness World Record-breaking PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, your can ride on the Peak Express chairlift as well and experience the beauty mid-air. Breathe the fresh air, admire the sights and feel the wind on your face as you move through the mountain environment. The Peak Express chairlift is your access to the Top of the World Summit, Cloudraker Skybridge, and Raven's Eye Lookout. This chairlift ride is an exhilarating experience taking you over the top of an ancient glacier while cresting over a 100-foot vertical cliff at the top.

CLOUDRAKER SKYBRIDGE

Situated at the highest point on Whistler Mountain, near the top of the Peak Chairlift, is the Cloudraker Skybridge. To access the Cloudraker Skybridge, you must ride the open Peak Express chairlift. This new attraction offers arguably some of the finest views in all of British Columbia. Open only in the summer, the metal-framed bridge stretches 130 meters over a yawning chasm from Whistler Peak to West Ridge. On top of West Ridge, the Raven's Eye deck provides unobstructed views of Black Tusk in Garibaldi Provincial Park, Whistler Village, Blackcomb Mountain, and the Coast Mountain range. Equally thrilling is the ride up the Peak Chair as it ascends steeply over several very high sections.

TOP OF THE WORLD SUMMIT

Stepping off the Peak Express chairlift to the summit of Whistler Mountain truly feels like you're on top of the world.
