No matter where you travel, you will likely want to investigate what dining options are available. After all, having an exceptional meal is one of the most satisfying experiences.

While Miami has a famous culinary scene and excellent options for dock-and-dine restaurants, Fort Lauderdale presents some lovely fine-dining restaurants in the city where you will have an experience worth remembering. We want to share five of these with you here!

The Terrace Grill

This lovely restaurant is “trendy, tasteful, and familiar.” The modern dining room is exquisitely appointed, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the savory classics are sure to impress. The Terrace Grill is on the ground floor of The Dalmar. They also offer a sumptuous Sunday brunch.

Our recommendation: To start, try the artichoke carpaccio with mizuna, pecorino, and fava beans in a lemon vinaigrette. Move on to a 12-ounce prime strip steak with truffle mac and cheese. Save room for dessert because you will sigh over the chocolate ganache cake with Godiva chocolate mousse and caramel croustillant. Be sure to enjoy a cocktail or two since The Terrace Grill is known for mixing some of the best in the city, such as Ticket to Tulum made with Fidencio mezcal, turmeric, Giffard apricot, pineapple, and Malbec.

Bombay Darbar

Bombay Darbar was made to emulate a trendy, lavishly decorated South Beach nightclub. The restaurant is colorful with retro décor, which sets the perfect ambiance for a wonderful dinner. The authentic Indian cuisine is savory and delectable. Cocktails are ultra-hip and concocted by some of the best mixologists in the city. Forbes Magazine says, “All the prep requires a lot of time and is quite labor-intensive; one glimpse into the kitchen and you can see Bombay Darbar's commitment to quality.”

We recommend: Chicken Tikka Masala with boneless chicken breast cooked in a creamy tomato sauce with onions and bell pepper or tandoori Chicken marinated in yogurt, ginger, garlic, and freshly ground spices, then cooked in a clay oven. For vegetarians: Mushroom Makhani sauteed in butter and cooked in creamy tomato and cashew sauce with wine; Chana Masala with garbanzo beans cooked in gravy with onions, tomato, ginger, garlic, and special chef’s spices; or Mutter paneer with homemade Indian cheese and green peas cooked in onion and tomato sauce with spices.

Dune

Chef Laurent Tourondel’s Dune brings an elevated dining experience to Fort Lauderdale unlike any other. This stunning oceanside luxurious eatery is an ideal marriage of modern and traditional style décor. Dune ushers in a new era of contemporary American cuisine, emphasizing creativity and innovation. The restaurant is set within the Auberge Residence, where refinement, elegance, and oceanfront dining will elevate your culinary experience.

Our recommendation: Start with the Ahi tuna carpaccio with sauce ravigote, eggs, capers, lemon, and fresh herbs. The seafood ravioli with bay scallops, shrimp, and mascarpone cheese is decadent, as is the center-cut filet mignon with sautéed spinach, homemade frites, and tomato-oregano choron sauce. Dessert simply has to be the Bananamisu: Chocolate gianduja, mascarpone cheese, espresso, dulce de leche, cinnamon and savoiardi.

There is no Happy Hour here. It’s called Luxury Hour.

Our recommendation: Try the roasted bone marrow for starters, although the lobster bisque is also delicious. For your main entrée, consider the New Zealand king salmon fillet accompanied by roasted Brussels sprouts and garlic mashed potatoes or the herb-roasted chicken with sautéed asparagus and rosemary garlic sautéed button mushrooms.

3030 Ocean

For over a decade, 3030 Ocean has been one of Fort Lauderdale’s top-rated seafood restaurants. Located in the Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, this restaurant offers a unique, creative, and passionate combination of flavors in a chic atmosphere. Their candlelight-filled beachfront dinner bistro serves stylish American cuisine, with seafood and meats being the star attractions.

Our recommendation: The chef’s six-course tasting menu with such offerings as Ahi tuna poke with Macadamia nuts, wakame, cucumber, sambal and avocado; charred octopus with Marcona almond puree, farro, blistered tomatoes, arugula, feta and romesco; grilled black grouper with Dashi broth, wild mushrooms, swank farm turnips and bok choy, scallion, yuzu. For dessert: Warm Nutella bread pudding with pecans, cherries, and cayenne ice cream.
