Villa Maura is one of those rare settings of such perfection that it will make you dream of changing your life and moving to St. Barth for good. Located near the eastern end of Lorient Bay, this property is secluded and serene, a place where the lapping of waves and the buzz of hummingbirds fill in for the normal noises of everyday life. Recently constructed and designed with families and guests in mind, Villa Palm Beach provides ample space for enjoying the tropical lifestyle in the company of friends, as well as privacy and seclusion for quiet afternoons resting in the shade. The sandy beach and calm waters of Lorient is just steps away, and the villa is centrally located and convenient to the shops and restaurants St. Jean as well as the bigger surf of Saline Beach. The central, loft-like living area looks out over the 20-meter mirror pool and the wide front yard that slopes away to the shoreline, the shimmering waters of Lorient Bay, and the view west over the leeward side of the island and the blue Atlantic.
This beach, popular with local families, is also a great surfing spot. It is not often mentioned, and that is a good thing. Lorient beach is therefore able to retain its unspoiled and peaceful character. People go to this local beach to enjoy spending time communing with nature, rather than to see people and be seen. The beach is favoured by fishermen who set off early in the morning and return in the late morning with crates full of fish and spiny lobster. It is also a beach for surfers and they have their own club here. The beach is large; most people swim on the right-hand side of the beach and surfing takes place in the central area. The left-hand side of the beach is not used very much as it is difficult to get to. People come here for a quiet walk whilst waiting for the fishermen to return, for family days out with the children or Sunday picnics.
